If you do not see any redeeming use for Norton Protection Center, here is a way of disabling it:
- Click on Start and then Run.."
- Type in services.msc
- In the list, find Norton Protection Center Service and double click it, [or right-click it and select properties].
- Under the General tab, there is a selection for Startup type, switch it to Disabled,
- and click Apply or OK
When you reboot the computer, it will start without the big button at the bottom right of your screen. And you will have some more free memory, and system performance.
I found that the Protection Center did nothing but tell you things you already know. The regular Auto-Protect will pop-up messages every time you need to know something.
